Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer – Review & Swatch

Lately, I’ve been trying out concealers basically because I like to use them to highlight my clients’ faces and mine as well. My latest buy is the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer, a YouTube Cult Classic Concealer that I discovered last year. So, I bought it from the Maybelline website earlier in the year but only started using it a few months ago after my Colourpop no filter concealer (absolutely loved this, by the way!) finished. According to Maybelline, The Instant Age Rewind Concealer is a super-concentrated treatment concealer which features a micro-corrector applicator to help instantly erase dark circles and fine lines.

Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer

Packaging : The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer comes in a transparent glass tube with a plastic cap. It has just the name of the product and shade printed on it in pink and white colours. It also comes with a spongy applicator which I find interesting.

Formula: It has a lightweight liquid-y formula and consists of G852364 1 Aqua/Water/Eau, Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethicone, Isododecane, Glycerin, Peg-9 Polydimethylsiloxyethyl Dimethicone, Butylene Glycol, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, Nylon-12, Disteardimonium Hectorite, Cyclohexasiloxane, Peg-10 Dimethicone, Cetyl Peg/Ppg-10/1 Dimethicone, Phenoxyethanol, Sodium Chloride, Polyglyceryl-4 Isostearate, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Ethylhexylglycerin, Methylparaben, Lycium Barbarum Fruit Extract, Chlorphenesin, Ethylparaben, Aluminum Hydroxide, Peg-9, N-Hydroxysuccinimide, Palmitoyl Oligopeptide, Chrysin, Palmitoyl Tetr Apeptide-7. [+/- May Contain/Peut Contenir: Ci 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Ci 77491, Ci 77492, Ci 77499/Iron Oxides] F.I.L. D44980/4 U.S.Patent Pending

Application: Twist collar of the applicator in the direction of arrows until the concealer is visible on the sponge (it may take some turns on first use). Using the applicator, apply concealer directly to the under-eye area. You may want to put the concealer on the back of your hand or a mixing palette before application if you’ll be using it on more that one person. After application, blend with your finger, brush or beauty blender.

Pros:

  • The Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer has a lightweight formula.
  • Blends easily.
  • Build-able coverage.
  • Highlights and brightens under eye area and the face.
  • Well-pigmented.
  • Doesn’t settle in lines.

Con:

  • Wastage of product.

I really like the packaging and spongy applicator. I find the puff an interesting way to apply concealer as it looks like it will give that airbrushed result. The concealer itself has a lightweight formula which makes it easy to blend and it brightens up my eyes immediately after use. It has an amazing staying power of up to 6 hours without creasing or settling into fine lines. I read that it has a drying effect but haven’t experienced that. So, if you have really dry skin, I would advise you moisturize properly before using it. I bought the shade Caramel which is 2 shades lighter than my foundation shade and it’s just perfect! The only issue I have with this product is that you have to twist a lot and this may lead to wastage of products. Asides that, I’m happy cos it actually works, does what it claims and is definitely worth the hype! If you are looking for a new concealer, you really can’t go wrong with this instant magic from Maybelline. You can buy it from any beauty store or online here.

Have you used the  Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Concealer? What shade do you wear?
