I recently stumbled upon the NYX The Marsh Mellow Primer on social media and apparently it’s quite popular on TikTok. What really attracted me to it, is the cute pale pink packaging and the name ‘marshmellow’…haha. A few weeks ago, I got one to try out and thought to share a review. According to NYX, this 10-in-1 multitasking primer is infused with smoothing marshmallow root extract. With a soft whipped texture, this primer dries down totally transparent, to work on all skin tones.. Here’s my review :
Packaging : It comes in a pale pink pump bottle with a transparent cap.
Formula : The NYX The Marsh Mellow Primer has a soft whipped creamy texture and is pinkish in colour with a slight vanilla/marshmallow scent.

How I Use It : I apply a dime-sized amount to my face with my fingers before applying foundation.
Pros :
- It’s hydrating.
- Very soft to touch.
- Has a smoothing effect on the face.
- Fantastic for all skin types.
- Keeps makeup fresh.
- Extends makeup wear.
Cons :
- Price point is a bit steep for the size.
- The fragrance in it might not be tolerated by everyone.
Overall, I really like the packaging and scent of this NYX The Marsh Mellow Primer. Although, it takes quite a while to absorb completely into the skin, it dries off transparent afterwards. It smoothens the skin and allows better application of foundation. A little goes a long way, so, you might want to go easy on the pump. NYX says it extends makeup wear for up to 16 hours but I’m yet to wear it for that long. I can say it does a fine job of keeping my makeup fresh for about 6 hours (which isn’t bad in my opinion).
Price is $17 and like I stated before, that’s a little high for the size and a drugstore brand. I’ve used other primers that cost way less and don’t really think this Marsh Mellow Primer gives any notable extra effect compared to them. However, if you don’t mind splurging on a new primer, you may check this out. In addition, this is not a bad product at all and I’ll totally recommend it.
