Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer – Review

Primers are definitely a must-have especially if you are a part of the oily-skin gang (lol…I just made that up 😀 ). So, I shared a post about my top 5 face primers for oily skin, a while ago and the Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer made the list…woohoo! I’ve been using it for about a year now and thought to share my review today. According to Rimmel, Stay Matte Primer is formulated to stop shine for up to 8 hours and render pores all but invisible.  Now, here’s my review :

Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer

Packaging : The Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer comes in a cute white tube with purple screw cap.

Formula : It feels like a lotion when applied and dries off matte after a few minutes.

What It looks like

Application : I usually press out the quantity needed on the back of my hand and use my fingers to apply to my face.

After rubbing into the skin

Pros :

  • The Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer gives up to 8 hours of shine control.
  • Ultra-lightweight formula.
  • Minimizes appearance of pores.
  • Can be used alone or with foundation.
  • Doesn’t feel heavy or greasy.

Cons :

  • None whatsoever.
Dries off matte

The Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer has been my go-to affordable primer since Boots No 7 makeup base was discontinued. It is lightweight and goes on smoothly. My makeup stays on and fresh for up to 8 hours, which is pretty good. A little goes a long way as I have a combination skin type but you may want to use more if you have very oily skin. I also use the Becca Ever Matte Poreless Priming Perfector but you guys…this one is quite expensive and only comes out for special occasions 😀 . The Rimmel Stay Matte Makeup Primer is sold for 5,500naira and available to order here.

Do you use this primer? How do you like it?

Hugs and Kisses,

Missglam.
