Some days are so hot that even applying skincare feels like work. You just want to shower, stay under the fan and exist peacefully.
So on extremely hot days, I follow what I call my lazy girl skincare routine. It’s simple, light and keeps my skin comfortable.
My Lazy Girl Skincare Routine for Extremely Hot Days
Step 1: Gentle Cleanser
No harsh foaming drama. Just a simple cleanser that removes sweat, oil and overnight buildup
Your face should feel clean but not tight.
If your skin feels squeaky, the cleanser is probably too harsh.
Step 2: Hydrating Toner or Mist
Hot weather pulls moisture out of your skin.
So instead of layering five products, I use one simple hydrating step.
A toner or face mist helps your skin feel:
-
refreshed
-
comfortable
-
less dull.
Step 3: Lightweight Moisturizer
Skipping moisturizer because it’s hot is a mistake many people make.
When you skip moisturizer, your skin may actually produce more oil.
The trick is using a light formula, not a heavy cream.
Step 4: Sunscreen (Always)
Even if you’re indoors most of the day, sunlight still reaches your skin. And Lagos sun is not joking…at all!
A comfortable sunscreen protects your skin from:
-
dark spots
-
premature aging
-
sun damage.
Step 5: Leave Your Skin Alone
This might be the most underrated skincare step.
- Don’t keep touching your face.
- Don’t keep washing it.
- Don’t keep adding new products.
Sometimes the best routine is simply letting your skin breathe.
Your skincare routine does not have to be complicated to be effective. Especially during extreme heat.
Some days, the best thing you can give your skin is:
-
gentle products
-
hydration
-
consistency.
Nothing dramatic. Just a simple lazy skincare routine :D.
