Color Of The Year 2014 : Radiant Orchid!

Hey Glam Royals,

At the beginning of every year, the “Pantone Color Institute™  designates a Color of the Year to express in color what is taking place in the global zeitgeist and this has been ongoing since 2000. A color that will resonate around the world, the PANTONE Color of the Year is a reflection of what people are looking for, what they feel they need that color can help to answer. Not necessarily the hot fashion color of the moment, but a color crossing all areas of design which is an expression of a mood, an attitude, on the part of the consumers.”

The Color of the Year 2014 is Radiant Orchid which is about imagination and creativity. Pantone describes the radiant orchid as “an enchanting harmony of fuschia, purple and pink undertones” and also added that the color “reaches across the color wheel to intrigue the eye and spark the imagination”.

I love this color so much and I’m so glad it’s the color of the year (an excuse to rock it in different ways everyday…hahaha). Okay, the good thing about this color is that it suits any skin tone because there is a hue close enough to Pantone’s swatch that anyone can pull off. The radiant orchid will work as an eyeshadow, an handbag, a lovely dress, a lipstick, a pair of fab heels or flats, nail polish and the list goes on and on.

I made a collage of some of my favorite ‘radiant orchid’ things,so you can get inspired and look deep into your closet or just buy new item in this color…:D
