Skincare : My Everyday Skincare Routine For Oily Skin (Updated)

Hey darlings,

I hope you are well. I’m fine too, just a little cold and catarrh but nothing that a good night sleep can’t take care of. Alright, today, I’ve got an everyday skincare routine for oily skin for you. About 90% of women that I know and have met (including me) have oily skin and taking care of it can be a little stressful but trust me, it’s definitely worth it. So, here are the skincare products that I use daily for my oily skin. They have been tested and I trust them completely.

Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser :– I wash my face day and night with Cetaphil daily facial cleanser. Please STOP the use of your regular bath soap and dedicate a particular one to your face only. You’ll definitely see an improvement. The Cetaphil is a fantastic cleanser for oily skin, it doesn’t dry out my face but takes off makeup and dirt while leaving a gentle feel on the face.

Neutrogena Fight And Fade Toner :- I absolutely love this cleanser and toner. It has a dual function ; cleanses the face and evens out the skin tone at the same time. This one is definitely a must have.

Aveeno Skin Brightening Daily Scrub :- I like this scrub because it’s very gentle on the skin , smells nice and I can use it everyday. Amazing stuff!

Mary Kay Acne Treatment Gel :- This gel is a savior from acne and its ‘cohorts’. Few months ago, when I had lots of irritations on my face, I got the gel and by the second week of continuous application, I could see a visible difference on my face.

Neutrogena Fight and Fade Gel :- It does the same thing as Mary Kay acne treatment gel. I got it when my Mary Kay finished and couldn’t find to buy.

Neutrogena Sunscreen For Sensitive Skin SPF 60+ :- I wanted to get a sunscreen for my face, then I saw this online. I read reviews and they were quite helpful. It’s a good sunscreen for sensitive skin. However, because it contains SPF 60, it leaves a white cast on the face. I use very little and use my powder all over it and I’m good to go.

So, there you have my everyday skincare routine for oily skin. This is in no way, a recommendation. Remember that whatever works for me, may not work for you. You could try it out, if it does, yay! And if not, unto the next one 🙂 .

Do you use any of these products in your skincare routine? I would like to know your thoughts.

Hugs and Kisses,
Missglam.

  • I am a fan of Aveeno wash pads. It’s a jar of 28 (or so) self foaming pads. Just wet the face, use the pads and rinse and voila, you’re good to go.

  • Thanks for sharing Missglam, i should try the neutrogena family as well.
Yes, i use the Aveeno wash pads too, good product.

Permit me to digress, i Love the `About the Author` part of the blog.Muah!

  • Thanks for sharing Missglam. I have an oily face too and want to ask if it’s gud to use my body cream on my face.

    • You’re welcome, Remi. I dont think that’s a good idea. There are good face creams by Aveeno and Neutrogena that work well.

  • I used to have a very oily skin. You could fry akara on my face loool! but right now I think I’m leaning more to combo skin. I use the oriflame blackhead toner and their shine control cream. I think it’s working out for me so far. I also use queen Helene mint julep mint masque and that is what has reduced the oiliness of my face I must say. Then loreal exfoliating scrub that comes with a little scrublet is mild in my skin. Heard of the cetaphil moisturizer for oil skin face and intend to check that out. That marykay acne gel is a little angel I like it. Would check out the neutrogena too. Thank you for sharing your skin routine. I know my tory is long like I won the blog loool. Have a lovely day

  • Hello missglam, my name is Maryjane. I found your post very helpful and I’ll like to ask for help for my struggles.
I used to have a lot of acne on my face until I started producing my personal black soap, they all cleared but left me with terrible spots.
I’ll really appreciate it if you can give me some advice in what to use for my spots and my skin as well. I have very sensitive, oily skin and I’m afraid to use just anything. I stay in Nigeria, owerri to be precise, so whatever you suggest, I hope is affordable and reachable. Thank you.
