12-Day Beauty Habits for December Glow-Up

December is the month of looking good for no reason…and every reason 😀 . Between Christmas outings, office functions, detty December events, and family gatherings, you want to enter the New Year with skin that is fresh, healthy, and glowing!

This 12-day beauty challenge is easy, realistic, and made for Nigerian babes dealing with harmattan dryness, stress, and “life is life-ing” moments.

Day 1: Declutter Your Skincare + Makeup

Start with a clean slate.

  • Throw away expired products

  • Give out things you’re not using

  • Clean your makeup brushes

  • Wipe down your skincare shelf

Fresh start, fresh skin energy.

Day 2: Deep Hydration Day

Harmattan is not your mate…water is!

  • Drink 2–3 bottles of water (bare minimum)

  • Use hydrating toners + serums

  • Apply moisturizer on damp skin

  • Finish with face mist

Your skin will feel alive.

Day 3: Exfoliate (Gently!)

Time to remove all the dullness.

Pick your method:

  • Chemical exfoliant (AHA/BHA) OR

  • Gentle scrub (nothing harsh!)

Don’t overdo it. Once is enough.

Day 4: Sunscreen + Sun Protection

Whether you’re in Lagos, Abuja, Portharcourt…sun is sun.

  • Apply sunscreen even if you’re indoors

  • Reapply if going out

  • Wear hats/shades if you can

Your future skin will thank you.

Day 5: Body Care Glow-Up

The face is glowing but the body is giving “dry season”? Never.

Silky soft everywhere.

Day 6: Hair Nourishment Ritual

Your hair is also experiencing harmattan 🙁 .

  • Oil your scalp lightly

  • Add leave-in conditioner

  • Moisturize and seal

  • Refresh your protective style if you have one

Healthy hair = prettier you.

Day 7: Eat for Your Skin

Simple food additions that help you glow:

  • Fruits: oranges, pawpaw, watermelon

  • Veggies: spinach, carrots

  • Healthy fats: avocados, groundnut, eggs

  • More water

Your skin shows what you eat.

Day 8: Nighttime Routine Reset

Your night routine determines your morning glow.

  • Double cleanse

  • Hydrate

  • Moisturize deeply

  • Optional: Slugging (if your skin likes it)

Go to bed glowing, wake up glowing.

Day 9: Beauty Sleep Challenge

Sleep is not for the weak. It’s for the fine.

  • Aim for 7–8 hours

  • No phone 30 minutes before bed

  • Silk scarf or bonnet

  • Fresh pillowcase

Your skin will look smoother overnight.

Day 10: Lip + Underarm + Neck Glow-Up

These little areas matter!

  • Lip scrub + balm

  • Exfoliate underarms gently

  • Moisturize your neck (same routine as face)

Full-body glow, Queens (and Kings)!

Day 11: Stress Detox Day

Your skin always snitches when you’re stressed.

Do one or more:

  • Journal

  • Pray

  • Meditate

  • Take a walk

  • Listen to soft music

  • Reduce chaos around you

Peace = the real glow.

Day 12: Mini “At-Home Spa Day”

The grand finale. Treat yourself.

  • Warm shower

  • Body scrub

  • Hydrating sheet mask

  • Oil your body

  • Soft robe

  • Glass of wine or chilled zobo 😀

  • Light candle or diffuser

End December on a soft note.

This 12-day beauty challenge is not about perfection. It’s about consistency, softness, and taking care of yourself little by little.

By the time you complete these 12 days, you’ll feel:

  • More confident
  • Less stressed
  • Softer inside and out
  • Ready to step into the new year fine, fresh, and collected

Hugs and Kisses,

Msglam.
